The BGI PQ100 is the only truly portable PM sampling unit on the market today. This advanced system, complete with on-board microprocessor, flow controller, programmability and data download/storage capacity, is ideally suited for applications that require field portability plus regulatory compliance.

As a result of the internal mass flow controller, flow corrections are not required. The PQ100 is supplied fully calibrated, to standard conditions, at the typical flow rates of 2, 10 and 16.7 lpm. Additional calibration data (up to 240 sets of conditions) can be programmed for instant access. Calibration is easily confirmed or altered in the field using a bubble flow meter. The PQ100 display indicates elapsed time, total sample volume, instantaneous flow rate and battery status. A built-in real time clock allows future run times to be entered.

This microprocessor-controlled sampling unit is specifically designated for PM sampling. The unit will operate from its internal battery for 24 hours, but an auxiliary, easily interchangeable battery greatly extends run time. The built in software permits programming of start and run time, as required. Flow is accurately controlled to ±2% with a state-of-the art mass flow sensor. All relevant information, such as date, time, flow rate and total flow are displayed. An RS232 port affords downloading of information plus remote access. During the data transfer, relevant data such as station number, job code and operator name may be entered. After filter analysis, the weight change may be entered and the system automatically calculates the air concentration corrected to EPA standard conditions. The real time clock permits sample start at any future time.

Calibration - When using a specific filter and flow rate (e.g. 47mm Teflon at 16.7 lpm) the calibration will be maintained in memory indefinitely. However, calibration should be checked on a yearly basis. Two hundred and forty calibration points (from 1.0 to 25.0 in 0.1 lpm increments) can be programmed into this unit.

Tripod Support Assembly - This assembly supports the instruments at waist height. The legs "snap and lock" into place to assure the device is firmly secured. If required, the tripod legs can be bolted down. The sampling module and electronics are easily detached, so that collection and data transfer may occur at a remote location.

Data Collection - The data from the PQ100 may be downloaded to any PC though an RS232 communication port. PQ100 Software, provided with each sampler, includes a correction program, which simplifies calculating the flow rate to EPA standards. After filter analysis, the downloaded information may be re-accessed and the program will automatically calculate the concentration to EPA standard conditions. The optional hand-held Datatrans communicator eliminates the need to carry a notebook computer to a sampling site. Datatrans will collect information from up to 20 PQ100 samplers. Upon returning to the office or lab, the data may be downloaded into a computer running the PQ100 software.

Options & Accessories - A variety of options are available to enhance the performance of the PQ100 sampling system. These include a solar panel to eliminate a power source and recharging, AC power adapters, several sampling inlet assemblies (including WINS impactor), external batteries, and a calibration kit for flow, temperature and barometric pressure, including NIST traceable certificates, and carrying case.
