E-BAM
Portable Beta Attenuation Monitor

Download Brochure

The E-BAM is a portable, cost-effective version of the Met One BAM-1020.

Beta Attenuation Monitors (BAMs) have become the preferred choice for measuring airborne particulate matter (PM). The BAM technique is insensitive to vibration, fluctuations in ambient temperature or humidity and it preserves the integrity of semi-volatile organic and inorganic matter. Numerous evaluations, conducted by independent organizations, state authorities and the U.S. EPA, have proclaimed reliable performance and outstanding correlation between the Met One BAM-1020 and the Federal Reference Method (FRM).

The E-BAM may be configured to automatically measure and report readings of PM2.5, PM10 or TSP over user-defined intervals.

The performance of the E-BAM is more or less identical to the EPA-approved BAM-1020. However, the new E-BAM provides two very significant benefits; field portability and real-time measurement.

The E-BAM is contained within a weatherproof housing, and may be operated almost anywhere via a portable power source. Also, the E-BAM sampling and detection components are aligned, allowing for real-time measurement of particulate matter. The E-BAM provides minute-by-minute results, as well as hourly concentration values.

The E-BAM is designed for both continuous and semi-continuous operation. It is ideally suited for air quality surveys, emergency response monitoring, as well as permanent deployment. In addition, the monitor includes an on-board data logger for external (meteorological) sensors.
