US EPA GRANTS EQUIVALENCY METHOD TO BGI PM2.5 VERY SHARP CUT CYCLONES

BGI Very Sharp Cut Cyclones (VSCC), for use with PM2.5 sampling systems, have been granted equivalency status by the US-EPA (EQPM-0202-142 thru -145).

Models of the VSCC are manufactured by BGI for all designated samplers. Upgrades may be made to instruments manufactured by BGI, Rupprecht & Patashnick, Thermo-Andersen, as well as several others. Moreover, the VSCC is exceptionally suited for continuous PM2.5 monitoring systems such as the TEOM and the Beta Attenuation Monitor (BAM).

These are the first and only PM2.5 cyclone separators tested and approved by the US-EPA.

The VSCC provides a maintenance interval of 90 days, operating at 16.7lpm. Moreover, it eliminates speciation concerns and overloading by eliminating the use of a greased impactor (WINS).
